That day, the disciples hadn’t planned on providing dinner, the number of guests exceeded their expectations, and it appeared that the people were expecting something to eat. The disciples were worried because they didn’t have enough food to feed them. All they could scrounge up were five loaves of bread and two dried fish, and the crowd was getting restless and hungry. In Luke 9:14-15, Jesus said to his disciples, “Have them sit down … Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, He gave thanks and broke them. Then He gave them to the disciples to set before the people.” (NIV)
Jesus didn’t feed the people who were running around worrying, but the ones who were at rest. That really captured my attention. When you ask the children from La Casa de mi Padre if they have seen a miracle of provision, their faces light up as they answer, “Many times!” Agustin says: “ I remember one day we got up very early to pray because there was nothing to eat. We finished praying; and then, we waited quietly without worrying.” Tio Julio says, “Yes, I remember that. Just in time, a pick up truck came loaded down, with more than just food. That donation lasted us for three weeks. There are so many other stories. We have never lacked for anything; God always provides.”
Just as the crowd sat waiting for their meal, the children here at La Casa wait in peace without worrying for their needs. It’s amazing to see that conviction in their eyes. They lack nothing because they know that who they call Father loves and cares for them.
“Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us.” Ephesians 3:20

Efesios 3:20
