Everyone ready to get up earlier and adjust to school routine? Maybe.

Our new school year begins this week! It’s been a flurry of activity getting 24 children ready for a new year of learning these past few weeks, but we are ready and excited to be beginning our third year of on-site schooling.

Two weeks ago, a team from GlobalX ministries out of Atlanta, GA came down to help us cover over  200 books, workbooks and notebooks. Most of our classes are held on porches, in the pavilion and around the farm – outdoors for sure.  Covering the paperback books and notebooks in plastic helps protect them to last through the year. It is a major job, so we are thankful for the extra hands! As well, they collected school supplies for the children and helped to get backpacks all filled with all of the essentials to begin school. Somehow, new markers, colored pencils, pens and pencils and so many other supplies always help to get the excitement going! Then, the team helped the children celebrate the beginning of a year with a fun field day of activities.

We are indeed grateful for everyone who helps to provide school supplies, volunteer as extra hands in the getting ready process and who continually give so generously to allow us to maximize learning for each child. Onward to another great year of growing and learning!
