Mom’s matter! That is why we are so thankful at the La Casa for our two house moms. They have chosen to not only mother their own children, but open their arms, hearts, and lives to other children who need someone to step into that role in their lives. Friends of ours visited last week
and told us about “Yeah ducks” and “Yuck ducks”…. a pair of ducks that intermingle in our lives…a paradox. They learned that in their cross cultural training, but isn’t that true about parenthood as well?
Motherhood can seem to be filled with waiting…waiting for each crisis, each day to pass; but as we look back at our days, we remember the good times. It matters what has happened, 
how moments are spent. It puts a smile in our hearts when we see our older young adults come and visit and here them call out with excited, “Mom” or “Mommy”. No, they are not their biological mom, they know that, but these special ladies have stepped in the gap when these children needed them the most. Join us in prayer of thanksgiving for these two special ladies, Milagro and Rosa Elena. Thank for your role in supporting this ministry. Happy Mother’s Day!
Las Maravillosas Madres!
Las madres son importantes!! Es por esto que en La Casa estamos tan agradecidos por nuestras madres de hogar. Ellas han decidido no solamente ser las madres de sus propios hijos sino que han abierto sus brazos, sus corazones y sus vidas a otros niños que necesitan esa figura en sus
vidas. Unos amigos que nos visitaron la semana pasada nos recordaban lo paradójica que es la vida, la parte dulce y satisfactoria pero también la parte difícil y agotadora, una paradoja, un contraste hermoso. Ellos están aprendiendo esto en su entrenamiento transcultural, que todo en la vida tiene ese contraste, igual sucede con el ser padres.
El ser madre esta lleno de diferentes emociones, días duros que parecen interminables, pero una vez los hemos superado y miramos atrás recordamos lo mejor. Lo importante son los momentos compartidos. Siempre sentimos alegría y dibuja una sonrisa en nuestro corazón cuando vemos a los jóvenes adultos venir de visita y gritar con amor ¨Mami¨. Ellas no son sus madres biológicas, ellas lo saben, pero estas mujeres especiales siempre están cuando estos chicos las necesitan. Acompáñenos en oración de gratitud por estas dos mujeres especiales.
