If you would have walked inside our homes this past week, you would have found the children all busy studying for their final tests of the school year. With heads all bowed intently reading through their books, they were feeling that pressure to give it their all. Staff arranged study groups, children murmured as they repeated facts they needed to know, and the usual afternoon chatter and laughter of children in the garden was suddenly silent. Last week of school….giving it our all. Now, we can enjoy vacation time! Summer is here in the tropics!
Si hubieras visitado nuestras casas la semana pasada hubieras visto un montón de niños ocupados estudiando para sus exámenes finales. Con sus cabecitas inclinadas, sus ojos clavados en los libros, estaban bajo la presión de dar lo mejor. Nos organizamos en grupos de studio, los chicos repetían en voz baja todo lo que debían aprender, todas las carcajadas y juegos de la tarde se habían convertido en silencio. La última semana de clases… poniendo el mayor esfuerzo. Ahora podemos disfrutar de las vacaciones!! El verano ha llegado al trópico!!!
