There has been new buzz around La Casa. Kelly, who will be our new mission team’s coordinator, arrived from Atlanta, Georgia! At La Casa, we love to share in God’s work with mission teams each year. Our children love the attention and new friendships they make with visiting teams, and teams help us do God’s work. There is no better way to get things done than through group effort! However, hosting teams requires coordination, communication, and prep work. As our outreach grows, we’ve sensed a need for someone to come alongside and help coordinate all of those logistics.
In June of last year, Kelly visited La Casa with a mission team from her church. God began to speak and move in her heart as He used one of our girls at La Casa to touch her life in a way she never expected. As she prayed and tried to discern what God was trying to say to her, she knew He was calling her to El Salvador. (We knew just where she could help!) With lots of prayer, counsel, and a willing heart to say “yes”, Kelly made the decision to go forward with her calling. She has spent months in preparation for her journey; and on Valentine’s Day, she boarded a plane with three suitcases of belongings to begin a new chapter in her life.
Kelly is one of those people who you naturally feel at home with. She has a huge servant’s heart and rallies others to join in His work. She has formed special bonds with our girls’ home and they had been counting down the days to her arrival. We welcome Kelly and hope each of you get to visit us this year and meet her! Bienvenida Kelly!
