La Casa kicked off its summer mission team season with a group from North Point Community Church last week. Along with sharing special time with our children, this energetic group worked at the Bridge putting finishing details in the girls’ room and the upstairs apartment. This project was near and dear to their hearts as this apartment will be used for missionary housing; and Kelly, our teams coordinator and the first to live there, was a part of this same team a year ago. They also poured love into our neighbors around the farm and into one of our families. Elizabeth, one of the members of the group, summarized their visit with these words:
“There is a decent sized chasm between reading about something and actually experiencing it for yourself. That’s neither novel nor profound, but it helps shed some light on how grateful we are to have gone. To witness, firsthand, an overwhelming depth of need. To feel the weight of that need. To step into that need and serve alongside those doing their part and then some, has been our privilege.”
Thanks for your servant hearts, attention to detail and the abundant love and encouragement you shared with our ministry this week!
Arranca la Temporada de Grupos!!
En La Casa comenzamos nuestra temporada de visitas la semana pasada con el Grupo de la Iglesia de North Point Community. Ademas de compartir con los nuestros niños, este enérgico grupo dedicó tiempo a dar los toques finales del cuarto de niñas y el apartamento en El Puente. Este proyecto tiene un significado especial para cada uno de ellos ya que el apartamento será habilitado como hospedaje para misioneros, y Kelly, nuestra Coordinadora de Grupos (y la primera en vivir ahi) fue parte de este equipo el año pasado. También pusieron todo su empeño en los alrededores de La Finca y con una de las familias. Elizabeth, una chica miembro del Grupo, resumió su visita en las siguientes palabras:
“Hay un abismo entre leer acerca de algo y realmente experimentarlo por ti mismo. No hay novela tan descriptiva, pero creo que puedo intentar dar una pequeña idea de lo agradecidos que nos sentimos de haber podido realizar este viaje. El poder ser testigos de primera mano y sentir la carga por una necesitad tan abrumante. Involucrarnos y servir hombro a hombro con aquellos que lo hacen día a día, ha sido un privilegio”
Gracias por ese corazón de servicio, su atención en cada detalle y el amor y ánimo que han compartido con nuestro ministerio esta semana!!!
