When you have a house full of kids, they are always wanting to do “something”, and that “something” usually requires funds. Recently, our new respite house mom began to share with the girls that the way she tried to earn extra money when she was in school was by making jewelry and selling it to her friends. That can easily be done in university, but our girls can not “sell” at their schools. They still loved the idea
and were eager to try and earn “money” so that they could go to the movies or some other fun outing together. They have been eager to get their homework completed and learn this new trade. Erika, our respite house mom, donated her beads and told the girls that she would begin to teach them what she had learned. When they sold their necklaces, bracelets, and earrings, they would put half of it away to continue to purchase beads and other materials they would need and could begin to save half for such an outing. The girls are working hard to begin this new 
entrepreneurship. They plan on setting up their first booth to sell real soon! Wouldn’t it be great if we could create some unique designs and make this a special project for our girls? If you have any creative juices running in you, think about it for us! What an opportunity to teach work ethic, money management and the value of money generously donated that pours into the lives of these girls. These are such an important life skills; learning how to use the money God gives.

Cuando usted tiene una casa llena de niños, ellos siempre están queriendo hacer “algo”, y ese “algo” por lo general requiere fondos. Recientemente, nuestra nueva Madre de Apoyo empezó a compartir con las chicas acerca de la forma en que ella ganó dinero extra cuando estaba en la escuela, era fabricando joyas y vendiéndolas a sus amigos. Esto se puede hacer 
fácilmente en la universidad, pero nuestras chicas no pueden “vender” en sus colegios. A las niñas les encantó la idea y estaban ansiosas por tratar de ganar “dinero” para poder ir al cine o hacer alguna otra actividad divertida juntas. Han estado muy emocionadas por terminar su tarea y aprender este nuevo oficio. Erika, nuestra Madre de Apoyo, donó sus materiales de trabajo y le dijo a las niñas que iba a comenzar a enseñarles lo que había aprendido. Cuando vendan sus collares, pulseras y pendientes van a poner la mitad de la ganancia para continuar 
comprando los materiales que necesitarán y que podrán comenzar a ahorrar la mitad para lo que ellas quieran. Las chicas están trabajando duro para comenzar este nuevo negocio. Ya están pensando en la decoración de su nuevo stand para vender muy pronto! ¿No sería fantástico si pudiéramos crear algunos diseños únicos y hacer de este un proyecto especial para nuestras chicas?
