The lack of a father figure deeply affects children, but God has been good and has put our house dads (Juan Carlos and Gerardo) in the lives of our children.

Juan Carlos has 3 children of his own and 12 more at La Casa.  He is an exemplary father- always in the girls’ home listening to the girls’ stories, encouraging them and when needed, disciplining the girls.  Juan constantly reminds the girls that they are beautiful and intelligent.  He knows how to give them the love and affection they need and  this has helped the girls understand their Heavenly Father’s love for them, helping the girls build a relationship with Him.

Gerardo also has 3 children of his own and serves as a father figure to 13 other boys at La Casa.  His work is amazing.  He is involved in the boys’ lives with passion.  His weekends consist of taking the boys to play soccer, eat some ice cream or shop at the market.  He dedicates his time to these boys and has earned their trust through his love, but can also discipline them when needed.  His hope is that these kids can become responsible parents in the future.

Thank you for working bravely everyday with these kids, Juan Carlos and Gerardo.  Thank you for understanding the influence you have in the lives of the children and for demonstrating Christ’s character in your work.

La Figura de un Padre

La falta de un padre afecta en la niñez, pero Dios ha sido bueno con nuestros chicos ya que ha puesto en sus vidas a Juan Carlos y Gerardo; nuestros padres de hogar.

Juan Carlos tiene 3 hijos propios y en La Casa 12 hijas más. Él es un padre ejemplar  en la casa de las niñas; siempre puedes encontrarlo escuchándolas, animándolas y, cuando es necesario, corrigiéndolas. Juan constantemente le recuerda a las chicas que son lindas e inteligentes; él sabe como darles el afecto que ellas necesitan, ayudándoles a entender el amor que su Padre Celestial tiene para ellas y a construir una relación con Él.

Gerardo  también tiene 3 hijos propios y en La Casa sirve como figura paterna para 13 niños. La labor de Gerardo es impresionante, él procura con fervor involucrarse en la vida de los chicos. Sus fines de semanas disfruta sacando a los chicos a jugar fútbol, comer un helado o llevarlos a hacer las compras del mercado. Les dedica tiempo, se ha ganado su confianza y les ama, pero también los disciplina cuando es necesario. Su anhelo es que en el futuro estos chicos puedan ser padres de familia responsables.

Juan Carlos, y Gerardo gracias por trabajar con valentía cada día. Gracias por comprender la posición de influencia que tienen en la vida de los chicos, reflejando así el carácter de Cristo con su trabajo.
