Often times I think about how our program runs in cycles… There are weeks where everything around La Casa is peaceful and quiet; there are others that are not like that… at all! This week we faced some challenges with some of our boys… this was their week. While the girls’ home was doing really well, our boys were struggling. Often our children face different setbacks that produce in them frustrations and many other feelings. Their natural way to cope with that is to act out and express it through their behavior.

Our role as Child Care Staff is to help them understand why they are doing what they are doing, and to provide them with options that put them in the position to make good decisions in life. We try to teach them that this time of struggling is only an opportunity for them to learn to do better in life… Interesting how this also applies to all of us!

As you enter this weekend please remember the boys’ home in your prayers. We believe this is only temporary, with the right guidance, we know that eventually each one of them will overcome their struggles.
