One of the questions we like to ask each team that comes to La Casa is, “What was the best part of your trip?” Without exceptions, they answer, “spending time with the children.” The children always look forward to the visits and they would answer in a similar way. They love getting to know team members and get extra excited when they recognize those that have been here before.
The GlobalX Adult team that arrived in May thoroughly enjoyed interacting with our young people. One of the things that encouraged us most was when we saw those from the team reaching out to the children that often stay in the background and are shy. Horseplay and giggles abounded and at the end of they day, no one wanted to leave.
In addition to their childlike hearts, the group organized their skills and talents to transform the terrace area of “The Bridge”. They got to work and they scrubbed mold off the walls, cut back plants and painted a mural on the wall. The drawing depicts a bridge through the mountains and can be seen almost in 3D when looking at it from the second floor. No one really understood what they were painting until the connecting lines were drawn and then stepped back to see it from above. And so it is with God, we don’t often understand what He is doing both in and through us until we see it from His perspective—connecting hearts.
We are grateful for those that come to share from their hearts with us; it helps us to understand this big family God has adopted us into.

Conectando corazones
Una de las preguntas que hacemos a los grupos que visitan La Casa es “Cuál fue la mejor parte de tu viaje?” y sin excepción cada uno responde, “pasar tiempo con los chicos”. Los chicos aman las viditas y de seguro responderían de la misma forma. Les encanta conocer nuevos amigos y se emocionan de reconocer a algunos que nos han visitado antes.
El Grupo de Adultos de GlobalX que llegó en Mayo, disfrutó de un tiempo especial con los jóvenes adultos. Uno de los detalles que nos animó fue ver que los miembros del grupo procuraban acercarse a cada uno, incluso aquellos que prefieren permanecer atrás o los más tímidos. Caballitos y cosquillas abundaron y al final del día nadie quería irse.
Además de sus corazones alegres, el grupo organizó sus habilidades y talentos para transformar la terraza de “El Puente”. Quitaron el moho de las paredes , podaron las plantas e hicieron un mural. El dibujo representa un Puente a través de las montañas y se puede ver casi en tercera dimensión si lo mira desde la segunda planta. Nadie entendía lo que estaban pintando hasta que se dibujaron todas las líneas y se daban unos pasos atrás para verlo. Así sucede con Dios, muchas veces no comprendemos lo que El está hacienda en y por medio de nosotros hasta que lo vemos desde Su perspectiva-conectando corazones.
Estamos muy agradecidos por todos aquellos que vienen a compartir de su corazón con nosotros; esto nos ayuda a comprender esta gran familia de Dios a la que pertenecemos.
