Can you identify with the celebration of persevering a long, hard task? Here, in La Casa, this is the final week of school for most of our children. School is a long,
hard task! They have gotten up all year at unbelievable hours to get ready for school and head out for busy days of learning. They have come home to hours of homework, projects, and studying. They have had successes, setbacks, refocused, and now have made it to this very last week. They….28 children. This week is a final week of exams; a final time of evaluation to see of they “make the grade” to move on to the next level of learning. And, that is their focus.
However, it is also a time to stop and be thankful for the opportunity to go to school another year. It is a time to be thankful that we have had books and supplies, transportation, gas, and funding to pay for school. We’ve had tias, tios, a math tutor, volunteers, and parents who’ve sat down each afternoon to make
sure work is done. Even through difficult times, God has provided a way, a way to finish. He has take children who get “stuck” in the mud of dealing with the past and shone that He cares and has given hope. A hope for a different future, one day at a time.
Thanks to everyone who has made the journey possible! And, thanks for your prayers as our children finish the school year….may we all celebrate!
Te identificas con la emoción de lograr cumplir una tarea larga y difícil después de perseverar por un tiempo? Aquí, en La Casa, esta es la última semana de clases para la mayoría de nuestros niños. Las responsabilidades del colegio son una tarea larga y difícil! Se han levantado casi de madrugada durante todo el año para ir al colegio y lograr cumplir con un ajetreado día de aprendizaje . Llegan a La Casa llenos de tareas y proyectos. Han tenido éxitos, fracasos y ahora han llegado a esta última semana. Ellos … 28 niños. Esta semana es una semana final de exámenes, un tiempo final de evaluación para saber si “aprueban el grado ” para pasar al siguiente nivel de aprendizaje. Y, ese es su objetivo.
Sin embargo, también es un momento para detenerse y estar agradecidos por la oportunidad de ir al colegio un año más. Es un tiempo para estar agradecidos de que hemos tenido libros y útiles escolares, transporte, gas y la financiación para pagar las colegiaturas. Hemos tenido tias , tios , un tutor de matemáticas , voluntarios y padres de familia que han sentado todas las tardes para asegurarse de que el trabajo está hecho. Incluso en tiempos difíciles , Dios
ha provisto un camino, un camino hasta el final. Él ha tomado amorosamente a los niños que se ven “atrapados” en el pasado y les ha mostrado que se preocupa y les ofrece esperanza. Una esperanza para un futuro diferente, un día a la vez.
Gracias a todos los que han hecho este año escolar posible! Y, gracias por sus oraciones para que los chicos terminen con éxito el año escolar …. Todos a celebrar!
